St. Paul’s has a 3-octave set of Suzuki Tone Chimes that needs a group of 11-15 people to make them ring. The ‘Ding-a-Lings’ have played at Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Easter, Pentecost and Baptism services as well as performed for a fund raising dinner.
First time chimers will be given an orientation session before their first practice. The orientation will cover the basics of ringing and dampening techniques, counting and the format of our colour-coded music. No prior formal music training is required, although it is useful.
Practices begin about 6 weeks prior to the event date and are scheduled for one hour at times that are convenient to the ringers. These usually are on Saturdays or Sundays.
Come have fun with the ‘Ding-a-Lings’!
