Today is the Seventh Sunday of Easter as well as Ascension Sunday. We learn in Luke 24:51 that "While he was blessing them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven." We receive in our hearts with thanksgiving Our Lord's life, which he laid down in love for us, as we share Holy Communion, and then go forth in his strength to live out this most high calling to serve.
