Our theme for this Sunday can be summed up in the words of our Second Reading: "Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with persevereance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith" (Hebrews 12:1-2a). Fergus is officiating and preaching. Thanks to Deacon Betty for assisting; Murray and Angela for reading from Holy Scripture; Stacy for leading us from New Brunswick in the Prayers of the People; and Paul and our Choir for leading us in 8 Congregational Hymns and an Anthem; and all those helping on Altar Guild, as Greeters and Sidespersons, on Soundboard, and with Post-Service Coffee!
As the Service is a Holy Eucharist, we’re most blessed to share Holy Communion together, physically or spiritually, feeding by faith with thanksgiving on the One who laid down his life for us, so that we may have his life within us always. When our Liturgy ends, the service begins, with a “Sending” forth into our beautiful Country and the whole wide world to share, in word and in deed, the love of God with joy, in the power of the Holy Spirit, in word and in deed.
Today’s Service of Holy Eucharist will be livestreamed on our main Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/stpaulscalgary) at 9:30 am. Following the service, the video will be posted on our YouTube Channel, and a link to the service will be added here. To watch this service in full screen mode, please click on the “Watch on YouTube” button in the lower left-hand corner of the video. Please download the Order of Service in the Sermon Notes above if you would like to follow along.
