This Sunday, we’re looking at how Jesus meets the deepest longing of our hearts, expressed in the verse Song of Solomon 2:10 from our First Reading, to share the adventure of abundant, overflowing, and eternal life together with him as our Beloved, and with each other! It’s the fifth Sunday of the month, and so our Liturgy throughout is in the language of the Book of Common Prayer. On June 20, expressing our desire to journey together with our Indigenous brothers and sisters, we prayed together a Litany for Healing and Restoration from the National Church, as part of our marking the National Indigenous Peoples’ Day of Prayer. We also were led by the National Indigenous Archbishop in a Prayer Remembering the Children. This Prayer we shared together every Sunday from June 27 to August 1. From August 8 onwards, we’ve been sharing Prayers for Healing and Reconciliation, taken from The New Agape Worship Resources on the National Church website. This Sunday, our Prayers once again contain a Prayer for Healing and Reconciliation taken from them.
