Today is another deeply special day with 3 themes. The first 2 themes are the Feast of St. Peter and St. Paul, our Patron, and Canada Day. In our Prayers and Readings from Holy Scripture, we remember these two Apostles. In the Homily, we focus on what they can teach us on how to be the kinds of citizens that bless our country and world. We also share special Canada Day Prayers, and an Anti-Racism Prayer penned by the Moderator of the United Church of Canada. We sing “O Canada,” and a song about being used to spread the fire of God’s love throughout our land. We also have a song performed by Steve Bell. And, at the end of our Service, we have the third theme, the honouring of our Grads, as we especially remember 14 connected with our Parish family who’ve graduated from Kindergarten, Grade 6, High School, College, or University, and pray for God’s blessings to be poured out upon them. As the fourth Sunday of the month, today's service is a Triple C Service (a "Christ-centred Creative Celebration), which is reflected in the parts of our Liturgy already mentioned, plus our Eucharistic Prayer and the Translation we are using for our passages from Holy Scripture.
